Learn How to Keep Your Followers Happy
Every single day, thousands of internet marketers purchase real Facebook and Twitter followers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. In fact, it is one of the best ways to build up the reputation of a new company. However, I estimate around 90% of these marketers don’t utilize this traffic properly. In fact, they don’t do anything with it once they have the followers, and pretty soon that traffic is going to drop off. In this article I am going to share with you some top tips to keep your social media followers happy, no matter what social network they are on.
Share Relevant Information
This should hopefully go without saying, but you will be surprised at how few internet marketers follow this rule. Sure, you can get countless amounts of dollars advertising weight loss products to a list of 20,000 people. In fact, there will be many people willing to give you money right now for that. However, if your profile has been built up around Forex trading, is that something your followers really want? Of course it isn’t. If you must promote an offer (and it isn’t recommended) then always choose something relevant, that way you don’t lose your followers.
Keep Them Regularly Updated
This is one of the biggest downfalls of any social media page. If you don’t keep your followers updated with details regarding your company then they will stop following you. All it is going to take is a single post every couple of days for you to be at the forefront of their minds. It is also going to be beneficial for you because if you have loyal followers then they will look at whatever you post, and this could succeed in a conversion for you! They may even share it around and build up even more followers to your page. In fact, Brian Patrick Eha of Entrepreneur.com effectively highlights this subject matter in a recent post entitled 3 Ways to Turn Social Media Followers Into Promoters of Your Brand.
Keep your social fans and followers engaged. Gotta keep up the momentum!
….but don’t spam
I’ve heard some experts advocate hyper-posting in an effort to promote brand. But that appears, at least to most sane people (and even the semi-sane), to be overkill. You don’t need to post a status update or tweet every ten minutes. It is highly unlikely that your followers will have forgotten about you in this time (unless you are promoting amnesia pills I guess) so there is no need to do it. It won’t generate any extra business for you, and all you will be doing is scaring them away, or at least making them annoyed with you. A couple of posts a day, if that, are all that is needed. Even a good thing can be overdone, as they say.
Interact with Your Social Fans
One of the great things about social media is the fact that it allows you to connect directly with your potential customers. So make sure they feel as though they have a relationship with you! Interact with people who post comments on your page, ask questions that they can answer every so often (fantastic for market research) and basically, just have more fun with them. If you make it seem like you are a ‘real’ person too then it is more likely that they will purchase from you. After all, wouldn’t you feel more comfortable buying from someone you liked? I know I would.
If you put just a couple of these tips into place then you will find that you will be able to generate more money (and more followers) from your social media activities. What strategies do you use to keep your fans and followers happy? We’d like to hear your opinions on the subject.
